My husband is very shy about his swimwear, maybe because he doesn’t get a chance to wear it very often. Every couple of years we take a week or so and get away to a distant resort someplace, to just completely relax and let it all hang out, so to speak. On those occasions he will wear men’s swimwear, which is usually something I picked out for him, on one of my shopping excursions. But, this year I want him to go shopping with me and try on some new styles, maybe he will really like something like the board shorts or jammers and get away from the old traditional boxer style trunks.

He looks great in his usual men’s swimwear, but I like to have the latest in clothes and swimwear, and I would like for him to have the same. I know that he is always shy about putting on his men’s swimwear, and walking out to the beach or pool, but if he had something new that he really liked, he might just go out and strut his stuff on the beach. I will let you know later how this all works out.

But, they have become popular with all swimmers or beach goers. The board shorts, so named because they were originally used for board sports such as surfing, are also popular among all guys and gals too. My boyfriend also looks good in the board shorts and actually prefers them because of the comfort, and they are like a pair of street shorts that can be worn anyplace, if you wear the longer length.
Of course, I think that my guy looks good period. He can wear his regular swim trunks or his jeans, and I like the way he looks. But I especially like the way he looks in men’s swimwear.
We are going to the beach tomorrow, and it will be interesting to see which men’s swimwear that he decides to wear. I hope he wears the Jammers so that he can show off those muscular legs that he has developed running track.

They both have part time jobs, and work two afternoon during the week after school is out, and they also work on the weekends. But on the days when they are not working, they are on the water, coming home only long enough to change into their Mens Swimwear and head to the beach or dock. On the weekends they like to take the boat out for water skiing, and usually the whole family goes along for the fun.

Although I always buy good quality swimwear, even the good quality swimwear can only take so much of the rough and tumble activity that my sons are involved in.

What a man chooses for swimwear usually depends on how active he is and if he participates in water sports. Although some guys will choose the very sporty type of mens swimwear to make it seem as though they are very active. And that’s OK. That is why they have choices in mens swimwear. The men can also benefit from the fitting chart to find the correct size and style to give them their best look, while they are strolling along the beach.

Sometimes when a man is married, the wife will select the husbands swimsuit based on what he wore when he was younger and the choices were limited. It was more a matter of getting the same boxers, and she needed consider the size each time, if he gained weight over the previous year.

As we are walking down the street toward the swimwear shop, I can see in the window display some swimwear that I really like. I hope that he likes them too.

Those board shorts look so great, I may go to the shop for Men’s Swimwear and buy my husband and son a pair of those. I think they would both like them. Of course, you can buy board shorts for women also. But they look really great on the guys. You can even wear them as street wear, and just add a shirt and you are set to go out. The board shorts are available in different lengths, so I will have to ask my husband and son which length they prefer. The Men’s Swimwear shop I am sure will also have them in different colors and patterns, so that is another thing that I need to check on before I buy them. I know that my husband likes dark colors like navy, but I have no idea what my son would like as far as color and pattern, because things change so fast where the teens are concerned. He may prefer something conservative also, unless his friends are into wild colors and patterns. Then that is what he will want also.

In past centuries swimwear was called swimming costumes and costumes they were. In the early 1900s people began spending more time around the water for fun and relaxation. Although when you look at the swimwear of that time you wonder that they didn’t just sink when they tried to swim. In the 1940s you saw a trend toward swim suits without the skirt but with a little longer leg than you see today. We have come a long way since then.

The men faired somewhat better, they were able to wear narrow cut shorts that reached to the knee. But their swim suits also included a shirt to cover their torso.

Today women and men like to show up at the beach in glamorous swim suits that show their body off to the best advantage. Some men are daring enough to wear a bikini although this is done for the more private parties.

The board shorts are relatively modest and can be worn in public like the Bermuda shorts. The board shorts fit at the waist and may be purchased in many lengths, from mid thigh to below the knee.
